{"id":4536,"date":"2026-09-28T16:05:54","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T07:05:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.icd.riec.tohoku.ac.jp\/en\/?p=4536"},"modified":"2026-09-29T17:28:21","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T08:28:21","slug":"september-28-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.icd.riec.tohoku.ac.jp\/en\/2026\/4536\/","title":{"rendered":"September 7, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We attended the 14th International Conference on <a href=\"https:\/\/acii-conf.net\/2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Affective Computing and Intelligent Interaction<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/acii-conf.net\/2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACII 2026<\/a>), which was held in Mexico on September 7th \u2013 10th, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We hosted the Multilingual and Multimodal Affective Computing Workshop &amp; Challenge (MMAC 2026).<br>Participants were invited to use our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cr-ict.riec.tohoku.ac.jp\/diem-a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DIEM-A dataset (Diverse Intercultural E-Motion Database of Asian Performers)<\/a> for emotion recognition from human motion. Two papers were selected for Best Performance and Best Explainability. More information is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/mmac-acii-2026\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MMAC 2026 website<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 We presented a paper on EEG features of valence and arousal transitions:<br>Huan Su, Eunhee Chang, Woan-Shiuan Chien, Miao Cheng, and Yoshifumi Kitamura. \u201cValence and Arousal Transitions: Shared EEG Signatures and Theta-Selective Divergence.\u201d In 14th International Conference on Affective Computing and Intelligent Interaction (ACII \u201926)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow
