Press Release: Let It Flow: Recreating Water Flow for Virtual Reality
The work “Superior Falconer” created by a team of students from our laboratory was exhibited at the IVRC SEED STAGE held as an open session during the 28th Virtual Reality Society of Japan (VRSJ) Convention at the Tokyo Tama Mirai Messe in Hachioji City, Tokyo.
Our review paper by Prof. Kazuyuki Fujita, Prof. Kazuki Takashima, and Prof. Yoshifumi Kitamura was published in Springer Nature’s journal “Quality and User Experience”.
Mr. Dani Hove (North Carolina State University), who is staying at our lab, gave a lecture.
Tohoku University Open Campus was held on July 26 and 27.
The Department of Electrical, Information and Physics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, had a total of 5860 visitors over the two days of the event. Our laboratory had many exhibits at the Aobayama Campus, and many people visited our booth.

HealthTech College was held at our laboratory as a hybrid event, and Prof. Yoshifumi Kitamura gave a talk and many people visited our laboratory.
We held a welcome party for new students and Prof. Benjamin Watson, Prof. Miguel Nacenta, and Dr Sabah Boustila.
24 students from the University of Washington, Pennsylvania State University, University of California, San Diego, University of California, Riverside, York University, University of East Anglia, and University of Waterloo visited us. Prof. Yoshifumi Kitamura gave a lecture, and after the lab tour, students enjoyed discussions with each other.
CHI Study Session was held and 4 students from our lab participated in it.
